CustomSearch allows you to easily send the selected text to one of up to eight search engines — right from the toolbar or a contextual menu. CustomSearch includes search entries for Wikipedia, Google, Bing, and Amazon.

One of my favourite extensions, and I use it daily. All I have to do is select a word or phrase, right click and select a search engine, which then opens with a search on the word/phrase in a new tab. I don't bother with the toolbar buttons, as they all look the same, making it difficult tom figure out which one is which.
